Food and art are essential to sustaining life and feeding the soul, and the depiction of food in art has a long tradition. Honoring this glorious season of farmer’s markets and community gardens, Interact artists have been inspired by food to create natural dyes, sculptures and paintings. Through a unique partnership and generous donations by the Wedge Coop and The Coop Partners Warehouse, Interact Studio was able to use past-date produce for the project. In MUD: the Art of Coffee, Interact artists celebrate the beverage in all its forms and witness its mighty power. The exhibition includes a broad range of media; from delicate watercolors created with coffee as a natural ink, to papers made with coffee grounds. Exhibit sponsor Peace Coffee generously provided both coffee and a tour of their facility in support of the project.
